About Keri

When I was a little girl, I dreamed of becoming a fashion designer.  But, somewhere between 2nd grade gymnastics and Freshmen year typing class, that dream died.  I silently shelved my creative pursuits in favor of a career that would “change the world“.

I got married at the age of 20 and moved cross country to Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana. Much of my time was spent doing things optimistic young wives do, like making a four course meal for 2, writing over 200 thank you notes, or screaming like a banshee at the sight of a waterbug.  But, in my spare time, I carefully selected paper, fonts, and photos to create our wedding scrapbook, crafting it into something I could share with our future children.

Eventually, Crafty became a thing of the past, buried under chores, grad school, bills, and a cluttered living space.

About a year ago, Pinterest came onto the scene, reminding me of all the things I loved about Crafty. It only took one project before all of my old feelings were reawakened. I declared to msyelf, “I’m bringing crafty back!”

I started posting pics of my projects on Facebook, Twitter, and most importantly, Instagram.  People started associating me with Crafty again. The sun began to shine brighter. The grass was greener. Everything took on a new sense of beauty.

Around the same time, Kelly and I were fast becoming friends. We had Crafty escapades together and oohed and ahhed over Pinterest late on Saturday nights.  Naturally, our Crafty goals turned into a blog, the results of which you see right before your very eyes!

To sum it all up?

I’m a thirty something Supermomma to my three adorable boys and share my life with the hubs, Mike.  We’ve had many adventures in our 12 years of marrige, my favorite of which was living and traveling in Europe on the dime of the United States Air Force.  I have a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology, but right now my only clients are the hubs and my BFF.  I’m orginally from Kailua, Hawaii, but we’ve made our roots in the greater Seattle area where we met and fell in love.

I’m passionate about my faith, spending time with my familywriting, and anything else that gets my creative juices flowing.  I’m drawn to things that are bright and shiny, new and improved, or just plain awesome.  I’ll try my hand at any craft, as long as it doesn’t involve a power tool or sewing machine.

I’ve been blogging for almost 2 years at my first bloggy love, Pop Parables.

Oh, and I like Justin Timberlake.  And, Justin Bieber.  And, One Direction.  I think you get the picture.
